ANNA -- Violet Louise Tweedy, 87, of Anna, formerly of Alto Pass, died at 6:07 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, in Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.She was born Dec. 27, 1915, in Charleston, Mo., the daughter of Clarence Preston and Dollie Mae Graham Black.She was married to Russell Tweedy; he preceded her in death June 30, 1982.She was a member of First Baptist Church of Alto Pass.She retired in 1991 after a 31 year career as a cashier at the Anna IGA.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Pat Buckner of Anna; two step-children, Ann Tweedy of Murphysboro and Dawn and husband Mike Blaise of Murphysboro; one brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Frances Black of Malden, Mo.; two grandchildren, Suzanne and husband Carl Dillow of Anna and Jay Buckner of Cobden; one step-grandson, Aaron Blaise of Murphysboro; six great-grandchildren, Kristen, Kasie and Kenzie Dillow and Chelsy, Brock and Brennan Buckner, all of Anna; two nieces, Mary Ann and husband Smith Deline, and Vickie Scharfenberger; and four nephews and their wives, David and Rita Clack, John and Marcia Dever, David and Jeri Black and Paul and Carol Black.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell Tweedy; two sisters, Ida Ruth Clack and Lucy Dever; and one brother, Clarence 'Junior' Black.Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna. Louise's nephew, Dr. John Dever of Louisville, Ky., the Revs. Davy and Danny Miller, the Rev. Tim Sadler and the Rev. Perry Williams will officiate. Interment will be in Alto Pass Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Alto Pass or Illinois Baptist Children's Home in Carmi. Freeman and she was b. 20 July 1858 in Cobden, IL. James' grandfather was from TN. James married Jessie Coffer in 1904, she d. 1940 and they had 1 child. He then married Josephine Lawerence in 1940, she d. 1955. Next he married Zella Blessing in 1956. He graduated 14 April 1905 from P. & S. Medical College in St. Louis, MO. During WW I he was in the 86th Div. field hospital.
